About
Our history started when George and Ilda Askins aspired to make change for themselves and their community. They opened a garage in 1934, which became a Pontiac dealership five years later. Their success lasted until George’s death in 1966. With the future of the business then uncertain, Walter Scott, husband of George and Ilda’s daughter Charlotte, purchased the dealership from his mother-in-law. In 1974, Walter saw opportunity when a local Chevrolet and Buick dealership closed. He took on Chevrolet and Buick for his own business, and his overall success enabled him to upgrade his dealer’s main building as well as to open additional service buildings and a body shop. The body shop opened up in 1969, and to this day it is managed by Rodney
